Compliance and sustainability

The current average CO2 emission in the EU is estimated at 7.5 tons/person.

The energy need of aluminium manufactured from aluminium scrap is only 5% of the aluminium made from bauxite. In addition, in the processing of 1 ton of recycled aluminium the CO2 emission is reduced by 3- to 5 tons, which is the amount used by a European person for six months.

The production of steel from secondary raw materials requires 16% less energy than production of steel from iron ore.

The member companies of MGG save 1 million tons of CO2 through the recycling of 850,000 tons of iron and metal scrap, which equals the CO2 emission of a city of 130,000 residents.
